Villagers & trading¶
Seed page — to be expanded.
Why bother¶
Villagers convert renewable junk into the best items in the game: Mending books, diamond gear, ender pearls, golden carrots. A small trading hall replaces hours of mining and fishing.
Basics¶
- A villager needs a bed and a job site block (lectern → librarian, blast furnace → armorer, grindstone → weaponsmith, …).
- Librarian rerolling: place/break the lectern until the novice offers the enchanted book you want (e.g. Mending) — the trade locks once you trade with them.
- Breeding: 3 bread or 12 carrots/potatoes per villager, plus spare beds.
- Cure discounts: a zombified villager cured with a splash weakness potion + golden apple gives near-permanent massive discounts (1-emerald Mending books). Stack-curing is the late-game move.
